Unsubstantiated bomb threats prompt Flagstaff school evacuations

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (KSAZ) -- School officials in Flagstaff said Thursday afternoon that bomb threats prompted the evacuation of two schools in the Northern Arizona city.

According to Zachery Fountain with the Flagstaff Unified School District, Flagstaff High School and Sinagua Middle School were evacuated, after both of the school's front offices received bomb threats. In addition to the evacuations, people at Knowles and Marshall Elementary Schools went into "shelter in place" mode, out of an abundance of caution.

The school building for Flagstaff High School and Sinagua Middle School, according to Fountain, have since been cleared, and students from all four schools were released for dismissal as normally scheduled.
