Valley antique mall reopens after devastating fire

On June 25, 2017, a two-alarm fire ripped through a portion of the Brass Armadillo near 28th Avenue and Cactus Road.

The mall has been a staple in the Valley since the late '90s, and it features over 750 booths where people sell their antiques.

"The fire was basically constricted to the back of the store," said Jesse Munoz, general manager for the Brass Armadillo.

Not many items were damaged, but the reconstruction has been a process. A year later, they're ready to reopen, and the store will be even bigger and better.

"It took a little bit of time, but now we're making a nice, more pleasurable shopping experience," Munoz said.

The store will reopen the new section on July 2 with 35 new booths.
