SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (KSAZ) -- Sometimes, it's hard to find the motivation to workout, but one fitness studio in Scottsdale is offering fitness classes, with a nightclub vibe.
Gitness studio TruFusion launched in Las Vegas back in 2013, but it has recently gained a lot of attention, after former Yankees baseball player Alex Rodriguez partnered with the company. The location is Scottsdale offers over 100 classes each week, and recently, they started Fit First Friday. The event, which features DJs and other goodies, is offered every first Friday of each month.
"First Friday is an opportunity for people to workout and socialize and whatever their jam is," said founder Martin Hinton. "If it's more yoga or more fitness, if it's hot or not hot, it's honestly just a workout party."
Hinton says the concept behind is to feel like you're not really working out.
"A lot of times, people will work out really, really hard, but maybe they'll quit because it's just tough, but you'll always come back to a good time," said Hinton.
There are DJ's spinning in all classes throughout the evening, and the lightning in each room is as if you're in a actual nightclub.
"Tonight, I'm teaching a down and dirty class," said Hinton. "So it's like a club scene, but instead of having drinks, you are going to drink water and kombucha."
"It's pretty good, just overall, full body workout, which I quite enjoy," said one man . "The hardest thing to get used to at first is the heat, so that's why I snuck out for a little break just now.
By the end of workout classes, there are plenty of drinks and food to sample.
"You got everything under one roof, and then, as you start coming here, you start meeting people and there is a sense of community," said one man.
