Valley roofers busy with wet weather repairs

It has been a wet week for the Valley so far, and we have several days of rain yet to come.

That means it's a busy time for roofers who are working overtime as people call for help.

"We got a good day today, so the suns out, we just gotta jump on it," said Jeremy Crandall.

Crandall has been a roofer for eight years, and he knows when we get as much rain as we've had over the past few days the calls start coming in.

"It's been wild, I've been on eight stops already, this is my 9th, and it's just after 1 p.m., and I still have a couple more to do," said Crandall.

Call #9 took him to the Gilbert home of Dallen and Carol Timothy.

"Well, we noticed it last evening. Our daughter came in and said I hear some dripping; then she noticed some paint bubbling on the ceiling," said Dallen Timothy.

"We're lucky that he came out and gonna see what's going on and see what can be done, and hopefully, it's not going to cost too much," said Carol Timothy.

Jeremy headed to the roof to diagnose the problem, and it didn't take long before he spotted what was causing the leak.

"They had a broken tile, it's been letting in the weather, the water, the dust, we get a lot of dust out here, it could have been broken 3-4 months, there's really no way to tell," said Crandall.

Fortunately, for the homeowners, it's a quick and relatively inexpensive fix. Jeremy says most of us don't realize there's a problem until it is too late.

"Outta sight, outta mind, that's how roofs always are. So just because it's one sunny day, it doesn't mean you shouldn't have it, at least, looked at," said Crandall.
