Valley stylist gives tips for dressing by the pool

Let's face it, sometimes facing the mirror in a swimsuit can bring up a lot of feelings.

But getting ready for the pool doesn't have to feel like such a chore, especially if you dress for your body type. Stylist Shannon Campbell says to embrace any trouble areas and accentuate what makes you feel confident.

For example, if you don't want to show off your stomach, go for an elongated look.

"High-waisted, it's perfect for that and also if you're kind of petite you want to lengthen your legs, you want to wear a nudge wedge," she said.

There's a trick for every shape.

"Also, maybe you're not that large in your bust... wear something that has a plunging neck line," she said.

Don't try to overcompensate with complicated accessories.

"It's OK to wear a fancy outfit to the pool, but no heels, no jewelry... keep it simple," she said.

Stick to the golden rule: Every style is not for everyone.

"The biggest thing is just because it's a trend, you don't have to wear that," she said. "If that is not right for your body, don't do it!"

And remember, confidence is key. Before you head to the pool, give yourself a little boost!
