Wet weather and snow forecasted for Arizona
PHOENIX (KSAZ) - A fall storm is bringing wet weather for most of the state, and in Northern Arizona it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas.
The National Weather Service issued a snow advisory for elevations above 6,500 feet from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. Wednesday. Forecasters say rain in those areas will turn to light snow and increase in intensity.
The storm is expected to bring between 2-6 inches of snow to the state on average, with higher snowfall over mountain peaks.
The Arizona Department of Transportation and The Department of Public Safety are warning drivers along I-10, I-17, and I-40 to prepare for the storm. ADOT officials warn drivers to be prepared with snow tires, chains, or studded tires.
