PHOENIX (FOX 10) - Drink wine, hang out with horses, all while raising money for a good cause. Back for its eighth year, "Wine, Women and Horses" will take over Turf Paradise on Saturday. The event benefits one of the oldest charities in Arizona.
"It's a full day of fashion, betting on the horses, wine and a beautiful luncheon," Serena Simms said.
Simms, founder of Wine, Women and Horses, says the event is proud to partner with UCP of Central Arizona this year to raise funds for those affected by cerebral palsy.
"It's one of the oldest charities in Arizona," she said.
The event will include live horseracing, a hat contest, lunch, raffle prizes, silent auction and instructions on how to bet on the horses.
Simms says it's a chance to wear your Sunday best and benefit a very worthy cause.
"It's amazing, there's so much energy in the room and so much, except all the gals are dressed to the nines," she said. "We're all derby-style with hats and dresses... just a lot fun and we're so honored to benefit UCP."
Tickets are $80 - $120 and available to purchase at eventbrite.com.
