Winter weather up north is good news for Valley businesses

When there's more snow up north, there's more business for ski shops in the Valley.

Before doors even opened, customers were waiting outside of Ski Pro on Camelback.

"It's been great, a lot of energy in the air, a lot of people coming in, getting ready for this weekend," said Ryan McPhatter, store manager of Ski Pro.

McPhatter says the phone has been ringing off the hook ever since snow started falling in the high country on Monday.

"Excellent, sounds like fun, exciting... hope I can get my skis back in time," Laura Louis said.

Louis picked up some new skis before heading to Snowbowl this weekend to ski.

"We went up last a couple weeks ago when it snowed and it was pretty good snow, but this is going to be amazing," she said.

Whether it's skis, boards, hats, gloves, or even rentals, the good news is Ski Pro has great bargains.

"Typically, we will wait, you know, until later in the spring before we start going all of our markdowns," McPhatter said. "We actually just went through and marked down absolutely everything a couple of weeks ago."

If you're heading to Snowbowl this weekend, you can purchase a one-day discounted holiday pass and that price is good through Sunday. You can also purchase a two-day pass for a discounted price at Ski Pro.
