Loop 202 wrong-way crash leaves one dead, one injured

TEMPE - One person is dead after a wrong-way crash on the Loop 202.

A spokesperson for the Arizona Department of Public Safety says a wrong-way driver was heading east in the westbound lanes of Loop 202 near Scottsdale Road when the two-vehicle collision occured. DPS says the wrong-way driver died in the collision.

A second person was transported to the hospital, but is expected to survive. The westbound Loop 202 was closed as DPS troopers investigated the crash.
