Yorkie on the mend needs a new home

Little Eddie the Yorkie is learning to once again be steady on his feet after having major reconstructive surgery on his hind leg just a week ago.

Eddie was brought to the vet by the Animals Benefit Club in extremely bad shape. Five hours after surgery, Dr. William Linney, at Phoenix Veterinary, was successfully able to reconstruct his leg.

"Lots of time putting him back together," he said. "He's doing amazingly well, he's been walking on that leg since the day after surgery."

The Animals Benefit Club is now raising money to get Eddie, and other dogs like him, healed and well enough to be adopted out to a forever home. For all those involved in Eddie's healing, they say this is why they do what they do.
