Young girl injured by service dog on Southwest Airlines flight from Phoenix

A young girl was reportedly injured by a service dog on a Southwest Airlines flight from Phoenix to Portland, Oregon.

According to a statement from Southwest Airlines to FOX 10, during boarding of flight #1904 from Phoenix to Portland on February 21, a support dog's teeth scraped a young girl's forehead as the child was approaching the dog, which caused a minor injury.

Paramedics evaluated the girl, who was cleared to continue on the flight to Portland. The dog and its owner remained in Phoenix.

Southwest also says the flight was delayed 20 minutes due to the incident.
