Arrest made in shooting outside Tempe Food City

Police have made an arrest after a driver was found shot to death in Tempe on Friday night. 

The deadly shooting happened at the intersection of Scottsdale Road and McKellips near a Food City supermarket in Tempe.  Police have arrested 23-year-old Jose Bojorquez in the shooting death of the victim, Adrian Salazar.

The shooting happened around 8 p.m. near the Food City parking lot.  Police say the two men were inside a car when gunfire broke out inside the vehicle.  They say Bojorquez shot Salazar in the head, and that after the shooting, the car rear-ended another vehicle.

Bojorquez has been arrested and booked into jail on charges of second degree murder.

Officers closed the area as they investigated, and the streets were re-opened again on Saturday morning.
