Deputies say man confesses to killing his wife

Yavapai County Sheriff's deputies have arrested a man who they say confessed to killing his wife.

43-year-old Manuel Lopez-Moncada, formerly a person-of-interest in the death of his wife, Maria, is now expected to face charges in her murder.  He is being booked at the Camp Verde Dentention Center on murder charges.

The victim, 35-year-old Maria "Cecilia" Nava Pila, was found dead last week inside a mobile home on Beaver Creek Road in Rimrock.  Deputies reported she had been killed from some type of traumatic injuries.  Her husband had initially been described as a person of interest in the case, but on Sunday, deputies say he called the Yavapai County Sheriff's Office and confessed to killing his wife, telling them that he wanted to turn himself into police custody.  No bond has been set.
