Diamondbacks unveil new food offerings at Chase Field

When you think Baseball, you think about hot dogs, peanuts, but what about chicken and waffles?

Catching an Arizona Diamondback's game at Chase Field is turning into a dining experience. The ball club is adding some local flavor to the menu.

"This is going to be something totally different across America, I've never heard of this type of food in a ballpark," said Larry White, owner of Lo Lo's Chicken and Waffles.

Fans will now be able to chow down on chicken and waffles, and fried green tomatoes at Chase Field. Lo Lo's has been a longtime local favorite, and its owner says being able to serve up his food inside the ballpark is a dream come true.

"We're going to try our best not to run out, we're going to overstock and be prepared. We expect everything, we expect every butt in the seats to come and see us," said Larry White.

"I can't wait to have the smells of southern comfort food, and fried chicken wafting through the air," said AZ Diamondbacks President Derrick Hall.

The President of the D-Backs gave FOX 10 a tour of the new dining experience. Also coming to Chase Field are America's Taco Shop, Paradise Valley Burger, and Zoyo Neighborhood Yogurt in addition to the well known staples.

"I think it may be the future of the baseball experience. I think more and more teams are going to want to bring in the local flavor by having more than a traditional ballpark fare," said Hall.

If your mouth isn't watering the Churro Dog might do the trick. It's a warm churro on a glazed donut bun, topped with Zoyo frozen yogurt.

A food truck alley and a draft room will also be coming to Chase Field.

Opening day at Chase Field is April 6, when the D-Backs take on the San Francisco Giants.
