Fire crews fight flames inside home

Fire crews worked to put out flames inside a home near 36th Street and Thomas early Thursday morning.

When crews arrived to the home, they were met with heavy smoke and fire.

According to Phoenix Fire spokesman William Benedict, firefighters were able to control the fire quickly.

Benedict says the house was reported as being abandoned, but there were reportedly homeless people living in it before the fire occurred.

No injuries reported.
