PASADENA, CA (FOX 11) - Karol Franks has tried every way imaginable to try to find a matching kidney donor for her daughter, and her latest attempt has gone viral. Karol is the mother of 29-year-old Jenna Franks, who was diagnosed with a rare urological disease that destroyed her kidneys when she was only 15 years old.
Karol has been using social media in hopes of finding a match, even creating a Facebook page just to help in the search for a proper donor, using the hashtag #kidneyforjenna. They even uploaded a YouTube video back in 2012, posted flyers around Pasadena, designed t-shirts, and put up ads on Craigslist.
Last week, Karol painted a sign on the back of the family's SUV saying, "DAUGHTER NEEDS KIDNEY TYPE O" along with her email address firstname.lastname@example.org.
