Viral photo of cop spreads message of compassion

This photo of a teen and a police officer is going viral- for all the right reasons. The picture posted on Facebook shows Officer Tim Purdy connecting with an autistic student who had gone missing.

When they found the teen miles from school, officers feared he was suicidal. Tim Purdy knew what to do.

He explains, "As I was approaching him, he sat down on the curb. So I just took that opportunity to get down onto his level. Coming in, eye to eye contact."

They talked about school, football, and family. The photo shows a true human connection, and serves as a reminder to all to lead with compassion.
