Border Patrol agents find migrants locked in car trunks

TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - Border Patrol agents have found five immigrants being transported in car trunks during Arizona's heat wave this week.

Temperatures topped 100 degrees on Wednesday when agents manning an immigration checkpoint south of Tucson found a man and an injured woman in the trunk of a Cadillac.

Agents at a checkpoint near Ajo later found two men locked in the trunk of a car that fled from the inspection area. The car blew out a tire while fleeing, and the driver left the car with the men in it.

The third incident happened around 7 p.m. at a checkpoint north of Tombstone, where agents discovered a man also in the trunk of a car.

The Border Patrol says all of the migrants were from Mexico.
