Former state Senate President Russell Pearce submitted his request Wednesday, two days after plaintiffs in the case asked that Pearce be ordered to explain why he shouldn't be held in contempt for disobeying court orders.
The plaintiffs contend former state Senate President Russell Pearce failed to conduct a reasonable search for emails from a personal account that could show the intent of the legislation known as SB1070.
Pearce contends he did conduct a reasonable search and that the plaintiff's lawyer made an unreasonable last-minute demand for hours of additional time to question Pearce further during a Jan. 9 deposition.
