Katy Perry and Idina Menzel talk about Super Bowl performances

Pop star Katy Perry and singer Idina Menzel spoke Thursday about their performances during the Super Bowl Sunday.

Katy Perry is being tight-lipped during the press conference, but she hinted at what we can expect.

In Katy Perry fashion, we're going to see a female fun night that includes exotic animals.

It's already known that Lenny Kravitz will join the singer, but to go along with the female empowerment theme Katy says we can expect a surprise female guest. Someone she called a "Throwback" and "Old School."

She also said her entrance and exit will be something never done before, and during the show she will have animals including lions and shark.

Katy Perry said she is prepared and felt confident going into the show in part because she spent some of her childhood here.

FOX 10 did a story on the singer who attended Paradise Valley Christian School for Kindergarten and 1st grade; she mentioned that during her press conference today.

"I think maybe they showed my picture on the local news, I love making the local news so much... I have somewhat of a pride about Phoenix. I said the other day in an interview that I have hiked Camelback Mountain, so I have experienced Phoenix in a way and been here for the summer so I understand you and I feel that this is hometown turf, so I feel very comfortable," said Katy Perry.

She elaborated on what she is expecting for her show.

"I think I have my eye on the prize which is to make sure my performance is a few things, I think I'm going to play on my strengths which I think are humor, incredible joy, I think my songs are authentic, I just hope at the end of the day over one hundred million people are all smiling in unison and if you can imagine that happening there will an incredible energy across the world," she said.

The half time show is sure to be non-stop fun for 12 1/2 minutes. The NFL expects about 115 million people just in the United States to be watching.
