Lake Havasu Balloon Festival sets off for 2nd day

Hot air balloons are dotting the Lake Havasu landscape and delighting visitors for a second day this morning.

The Today's News Herald reports ( that the 5th Havasu Balloon Festival and Fair kicked off Friday morning at the Nautical Beachfront Resort.

The newspaper says dozens of people showed up as early as 6:30 a.m. on Friday despite the cold to catch a mass ascension.

The festival runs through Sunday night and this year features more than 60 balloons.

Events include skydivers and the Night Glow or Field of Fire, where various balloons are lit up inside by flames.

Among the balloons is one belonging to the lord mayor of the city of London.

Organizers say the event also benefits local charities and raised $100,000 for them last year.
