Man arrested after allegedly flashing gun at vehicle

A man was arrested after police say he pointed a gun at another driver near 40th Street and Cactus.

Police say it all started near 40th Street and Cholla on Monday night.

Two people in their 20s were driving next to a vehicle with three people inside when the man allegedly pulled out a gun.

The second vehicle called police; no one in that vehicle was injured.

Officers followed the suspects' vehicle to an apartment complex.

When they tried to stop the vehicle, police say the man ran out and the woman tried to drive away.

The man was eventually found hiding underneath a stairwell and surrendered.

The woman didn't get very far in the vehicle because the car's keyless remote was in the man's pocket, causing the car to stall out.

Police say drugs, scales and a second weapon were found inside the vehicle.

Officers are investigating what led up to the incident.

No names have been released.
