Man tries to stop suspect from stealing his car in Chandler

Police are looking for a suspect after a man was allegedly carjacked in a parking lot near Elliot and Alma School on Monday morning.

According to officers, a man left his car running while he was filling up water jugs at a water and ice store.

While the man was away from his car, a suspect reportedly hopped inside and took off.

The car's owner reportedly tried to stop the suspect by reaching into the window, but he fell and slid on the asphalt.

The man had minor injuries.

Police are looking for a black male with a light complexion in his late 20's, between 6' 01" to 6' 03" tall and 140 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black shirt with black and white sleeves, dark jeans and a black ball cap with red trim.

The vehicle is a silver four-door 2005 Honda Civic with Arizona license plate BGA1982 and a broken driver window.
