Detectives posted ads online and in magazines, basically offering sex with 16-year-old girls.
Police say they got several calls and text messages from men responding to the ad.
Authorities say the officers set up deals over the phone; agreeing on the price and service, and then told the men to meet them at a Mesa hotel.
The men showed up to the hotel thinking they were going to have sex with a teenage girl. Instead they were arrested by police.
Mesa Police arrested five suspects, ranging from 27-44 years old. All were charged with felony child prostitution.
"You'll have grown men just break down in tears because of the fact that they understand the severity of this... their whole career in some cases, their whole lives, their families, we have people from all walks of life," said Steve Berry with the Mesa Police Department.
Police say one suspect even tried to recruit the undercover detectives to work for him. He was charged with pandering.
Mesa Police say they hold undercover stings like this from time to time, targeting child predators.
