Michael Bidwill: Larry Fitzgerald will be a Cardinal next year

At the end of the Cardinals season, there was speculation that Larry Fitzgerald might not stay with the team.

"We've talked, and he wants to stay, we want him to stay, we just need to work out some of the details," said Cardinals President Michael Bidwill.

Bidwill told FOX 10 that there is a 100% chance that the face of the franchise, Larry Fitzgerald will be a Cardinal next year. "We've said from the very beginning we want to see Larry retire as a Cardinal. I've sat down and personally spoken with Larry; we both want to get this done."

Many thought Fitzgerald's huge salary this year at over $23.6 million against the salary cap might force the Cardinals to let him go, but Bidwill said the negotiations will start right after the Super Bowl is over.

"Next week I'm sure we are going to sit down and start hammering that out, but there is a mutual interest to keep building this team around Larry and around the other stars of the Cardinals," said Bidwill.
