Miniature horses to find homes in Arizona

After more than 30 hours in a trailer traveling west from the east coast more than a dozen mini-horses are looking for forever homes here in the valley.

The road each one has traveled is a mystery, but their future is in the hands of folks in the valley.

"They came from a rescue in Florida that just became overwhelmed by too many horses, they were all pretty happy to get out of the trailer after a 30 hour trailer ride for them, but they do all come in really good shape," said Ken Bacher. The Triple R Horse Rescue in Cave Creek took in 18 of these mini horses and placed them up for adoption. "People love them, it's a great way to teach kids to be around horses without risking them being around a horse that weighs a thousand pounds."

Volunteers are now caring for the horses, the rescue is helping feed them and keep them happy until their new family arrives.

"We just enjoy it and we love on them, we groom them, and we really take good care of them. We just enjoy them while we're here and we know that the end result is hopefully going to be a forever home for them," said Courtney Olson.
