Phoenix EMTs rescue injured hiker from North Mountain trail

Phoenix Fire officials and EMTs responded to the North Mountain Park to rescue an injured woman Saturday afternoon.

Around 3:00 p.m., the rescuers got the call and headed to a hiking trail near 7th Avenue and Peoria Avenue, according to Capt. Benjamin Santillan.

The 9-1-1 caller stated that a 33-year-old woman hurt her ankle and was unable to walk down the trail.

A technical rescue team hiked up to the woman and used a big wheel to carry the woman down the trail, Santillan said.

The EMTs evaluated the woman, but they did not transport her to the hospital, according to Santillan.
