Sgt. Derek Elmore with the Phoenix Police Department says that on March 9th around 5:00 p.m. the suspect followed the young girl and attempted to talk to her while she walked south on 51st Avenue from Camelback Road.
He then grabbed the girl, pulled her behind a nearby tree and fondled her, according to Elmore.
Fortunately, the girl was able to break free from the suspect and run away.
Now, police want to find the man.
The girl described him as a black man between 17 and 20-years-old with thin black hair and brown eyes. He's around 6-feet- tall and was wearing a black fedora hat. The man also had a piercing in his right eyebrow, Elmore said.
Finally, the girl told police that he spoke in a soft voice.
