Circle the City, a time and a place to heal, it's where Thomas Goodwin found hope and healing with the help of a Phoenix Police Officer.
"Everything good is happening because of you," said Thomas Goodwin. "No, you took care of everything, I just patched it all together," said Officer Richard Dicarlo.
Thomas Goodwin was befriended by Officer Dicarlo, it's a unique relationship that saved his life. He was diagnosed with melanoma on his hand after the officer helped him get the medical care he needed.
"I just appreciate that I was able to recognize where Thomas was with his healthcare, where his spirit was, and I was able to bring this to fruition," said Officer Dicarlo.
"It got a point where I thought this is where I'm gonna be, I'm gonna be out on the street, and then Officer Dicarlo showed up and the right time, because I wasn't having good thoughts at the time," said Goodwin.
Thomas is now at Circle the City, after two years living on the streets, he's recovering from surgery.
"It looked like I'll get out, and have somewhere to go and never be out on the streets again, he told me you're never going to be out on the street again," said Goodwin.
A new place to stay with a second chance at life.
