Police seek tips in solving Sunnyslope murder case

Just over a year ago 35-year-old Kevin Ore was walking home after closing the bar he worked at for the night.

Minutes later, someone shot and killed him.

So far, there have been no arrests and police are asking for the public's help to catch the killer.

Ore was walking home from the Rum Runners Bar where he worked as a bartender to his house not far from 8th Street and Las Palmaritas Drive in Sunnyslope.

"I see pictures or awards, you know this last week on the 7th was the year anniversary, and I avoided it in my mind all day, and at the end of the day I just kind of fell apart," said Michael More, Kevin's father.

Kevin survived stage-four melanoma, skin cancer. He was engaged to be married to his girlfriend of 10 years.

"I miss talking to him; I was really fortunate to live with him his last year to see how brave he was battling cancer," said Brendan Ore.

Michael's father has a question for Kevin's killer.

"I would want to know why, what did my son do that warranted being killed," said Michael.

"You know, I forgive, I cannot be consumed by this, it is enough that I have lost my son, but my family I think needs some type of closure," he said.
