Police: Suspect admits to using meth before trying to carjack pregnant woman

The victim says the whole thing happened very quickly at the Eco Car Wash on southeast 169th and Powell, but she's thankful because a second woman was there who intervened.

"He told me give me your keys b****, you ain't going nowhere."

This is the man this woman says she has nightmares about.  She's pregnant and had her 2-year-old child in the back seat at the car wash on Sunday.  She was vacuuming her car when she says Marvin Walker, Jr. jumped in her driver's seat.  It's the look on his face she remembers most.

"Like he was mad, he wanted to kill somebody.. I thought he was going to take me and my kid's life."

She grabbed her son and ran, but Walker followed.

"He said, 'Hey come back here,' and so I just kept running and then some other girl was there."

That other girl, police say, yelled after Walker to stop him, but he turned his attention on her, pushing her up against the car, demanding her keys and threatened to stab her.  She was able to fight him off and nobody was hurt.

"The fact that the other lady came over and tried taking him away in my eyes is a hero," said Andy Sorenson, who was visiting the Portland area.

A hero also in the eyes of the woman she potentially saved.

"It was a blessing actually, if she wasn't there I don't know what could have happened," said the victim.

Walker was in court Monday.  He was charged with robbery and coercion.  Police say when he was arrested, he was drunk and admitted to using meth just two hours earlier.

"I hope he goes away for a long time, we don't need any more people like that on the streets, said the victim.
