Public memorial and vigil held in Prescott for Kayla Mueller

It was an emotional evening in Prescott as family and friends of Kayla Mueller came together for a vigil.

They came together to remember the 26-year-old aide worker who was taken hostage by Islamic State Militants back in 2013.

Her death was confirmed earlier this month. The terrorist group claims that Mueller died during an air strike launched by Jordanian Air Force pilots in retaliation for ISIS burning a Jordanian pilot alive.

The event is took place in the town square after sundown.

Kayla's brother Eric Mueller and friends spoke to the audience. A school choir sang a song chosen by Kayla's parents.

Through one of the speakers Kayla's parents wanted to remind everyone not to forget the other people who have died at the hands of ISIS.
