Quarterback keeps 4th grade promise to take friend with Down Syndrome to prom

A high school quarterback fulfilled a promise he made to his friend with Down Syndrome when they were in fourth grade.

When Ben Moser and Mary Lapkowicz were in fourth grade, he promised to take her to prom someday, according to a Facebook post by her brother, Tom Lapkowicz.

Tom writes, "He always looked out for her, always made sure to pick her on his team at recess."

Seven years later, Ben remembered his promise and gave Mary a promposal.

According to Penn Live, Ben got balloons, wrote "prom" on one and gave them to her. She said yes and was reportedly very excited  to go with him.

Mary dressed in a beautiful lavender gown and Ben wore a suit with a matching lavender tie.

"[He] put a smile on Mary's face & restored my faith in humanity," said Tom.
