Scottsdale home burglary caught on camera

A home burglary was caught on camera, and now one Scottsdale homeowner is hoping someone will recognize the suspect so he can be put behind bars.

The brazen break-in happened just before noon in a neighborhood near 68th Street and McDowell Road.

The suspect got away with plenty of items but left one thing behind; his image caught on camera.

"The door was broken, glass everywhere, I thought he was in the home, so I ran out," said Lianna Kurka.

Kuka said the video captured images of the suspect who broke into her Scottsdale home two days ago and ransacked the place. She says they took off with $10,000 worth of items.

"He stole my grandma's ring, he stole two iPads, you name it, he took it," she said.

Kurka and her husband installed the surveillance system to deter thieves, but she says the suspect in broad daylight with neighbors even home broke in anyway.

"He opened the gate; it took him about 12 minutes to break into the home," said Kurka.

The suspect allegedly used a patio chair to smash into a window, at one point he looked up at the camera and realized it was there, but still he went back in, collecting the goods before taking off.

Kurka is hoping someone recognizes the man.

"I feel violated, it's a dirty feeling," she said.

Kurka has reported the break-in to Scottsdale Police.

Detectives are working on identifying the man.
