Super Bowl 49 sets new Twitter record

Twitter is notable one of the most interactive forms of social media is a perfect match for the Super Bowl.

A record 28.4 million tweets were sent about the big event, making it the most tweeted Super Bowl ever.

One of the biggest moments was of course the half time show starring Katy Perry, Lenny Kravitz, and Missy Elliot.

"Katy Perry's half time show saw 3 million tweets just related to the half time show. So that is pretty incredible. She is the most followed pop star on the platform so it was no surprise that people loved her show," said Brian Poliakoff with Twitter.

The most-tweeted about moment goes to the Patriots' Malcolm Butler intercepting a pass by Seahawk Russell Wilson, the moment that really won the Patriots the game.

That play racked up 395,000 tweets per minute.
