Surprise home burns twice in less than 24 hours

Fire crews were called to a home near Reems and Greenway for the second time in less than 24 hours.

Authorities say this fire started between 2:30 a.m. and 3:00 a.m. on Wednesday in the back bedroom.

On Tuesday, around 3:00 p.m., a fire started in the kitchen.

Officials are investigating the cause of the fires and at this point, they don't believe that they're related.

"We're about three minutes away, so he had a quick response.  When we got here, there was a lot of flames coming from the back of the house already. We could see it coming down Greenway, so we knew we had a working fire spread up into the attic. Portions of the roof did collapse. We had crews inside. Everybody was safe. We were able to position ourselves out of the range of the tiles coming in," said a firefighter at the scene.

What the firefighters really experienced was the roof caving in a bit. While checking for hot spots, crews said  they saw small, smoldering fires inside the walls.

Authorities say each time, no one was inside the house during the blaze.
