Tempe Police investigate officer-involved shooting

Tempe Police are working on an incident with an officer and an injured suspect near College and Weber.

According to police, dispatch received a 911 call regarding a domestic dispute at a residence in the area at 12:35 p.m.  When officers arrived at the scene, they heard screams for help inside the home.

"In an attempt to render aid, police officers made an emergency entry into the residence to assist the victim, and upon doing so, were attacked by a suspect with a knife.  As the result of the actions of the suspect, an officer involved shooting occurred," stated TPD's Molly Enright.

During the incident, Enright adds that one officer and two other individuals were seriously injured.

The officer and other victims were transported to area hospital, they are expected to survive.

The suspect has reportedly died of his injuries.

There are no outstanding suspects in this case.
