Tolleson High School gets Super Bowl XLIX field

Both the Super Bowl and the Pro Bowl played on this $70,000 field, but with the games over it's going to a new home.

A piece of history rolled out, a one of a kind football field for Tolleson Union High School.

Super Bowl 49's grass field was donated to the school and moved piece by piece from the University of Phoenix Stadium to Tolleson's football field.

"NFL players played on this field, and it's just a big honor," said Quarterback Zane Hemer.

Hemer is a quarterback at Tolleson Union High; he'll play football his senior year on the Super Bowl 49 field.

"Tom Brady, the quarterback, he's like a legend. Tom Brady, he played on this field," he said.

"Big name Athletes like Richard Sherman, Tom Brady, Russell Wilson, and Odell Beckham Jr. from the Pro Bowl, they've all played on this field and it's kind of crazy to think how high schoolers are going to be playing on the same field," said A.J. Schlomach, a TUHS football player.

Walking around the field you can still see signs of the big game, confetti and the Seahawks and Patriots Logo remain.

"I think they chose this field because of the proximity, it's pretty close, also the need as it was in pretty rough shape," said Dave Thoms with Evergreen Turf.

"There's a lot of schools because the budgets are so low, they need a jump start like this to get them going, this field right here will last them a long time," said Thoms.
