The town of Yarnell broke ground on a park dedicated to the memory of the fallen firefighters on Sunday.
The ceremony opened with a song that brought an outpouring of emotions on a day the town will never forget.
19 shovels bearing the names of each fallen Granite Mountain Hotshot are displayed at the new memorial park in Yarnell.
The wildland firefighters died fighting the Yarnell Hill fire on June 30, 2013, after fast-moving flames shifted and trapped the crew.
A bell rang for each of their names.
The town is trying to rebuild while vowing to remember the 19 brave young heroes forever at this place.
Some homes are in various stages of construction, while other lots are still cleared out.Another ceremony will be held on Tuesday to honor the exact date the city lost the hotshots.
