The FDNY was on the scene of a fire at the NYU Medical Center on 1st. Ave. and 30th St. on the East Side of Manhattan on Wednesday afternoon.
A photo from the FDNY showed thick black smoke at the building. The fire was on the roof of one of the buildings.
It apparently is in an area under renovation and it was construction materials that caught on fire. No injuries were reported but patients and staff were moved from adjoining areas as a precaution. The 2-alarm fire was declared under control before 1 p.m.
