87-year-old Brooklyn man graduates from college

They say nothing is impossible and that is true for Hubert Evans. His dream was to one day graduate college. That dream came true on May 24, 2016. He was part of the 2016 graduating class of Medgar Evers College, where he earned his bachelor's degree in liberal studies. He is 87.

The college held a private ceremony on Tuesday to honor its oldest graduate.

Evans has been a Brooklyn College campus safety officer since 1993. The Jamaican native worked and attended college full-time.

The father of seven and grandfather of 11 has this advice for those who may think it's impossible: "Always be truthful and strive for the best work."

Evans's goal is to begin a career in social work. If you think this is it for Evans, you are wrong. He wants to pursue a master's degree.
