Baby killed by tree falling on house

Friday's storm caused a tree to collapse on a house in West Point, killing a seven-month-old baby sleeping on the bed.

"Strong wind came and knocked the tree down... when it fell on top of the house, everything fell on top of us and we fell to the floor," said Katrina Slaughter, the baby's grandmother.

Friends tell FOX 5 no one could get to the baby, Kyren Davis, who was resting on his grandmother's bed. Everyone else was able to escape from the home.

Police responded to the scene and eventually found the baby deceased.

"She's not holding up. She's taking it real hard," Slaughter said. She also said the baby had a special bond with his twin brother, Kyle.

"He was a sweet baby. He was a happy baby," she said.

The family does not plan to ever return to the home. "We will never be able to bury the loss of my grandson," she said.
