Big happenings at Walt Disney World this summer!

New rides, new shows, new restaurants and other attractions are coming to the Mouse House. Walt Disney World Resort has been hosting international media this week to announce several updates to the parks, promising to awaken you this summer.

It all starts with those wearable MagicBands. You now have lots more customization for FastPass reservations and expect random magical moments. The bands are linked to a profile on My Disney Experience, where guests can unlock personalized surprises at locations such as It's a Small World, Rock 'n' Roller Coaster, and more.

Disney is transforming shopping with the Shop Disney Parks app. It lets guests locate and purchase exactly the authentic Disney parks merchandise they're looking for, anywhere at the resort. They can have it delivered to the front of the park, to their resort room, or to their home.

What we all remember as Downtown Disney is now Disney Springs, and it seems like every week, this place is getting bigger and better. Disney Springs is a one-of-a kind experience that treats guests day and night to great dining, shopping and entertainment in beautiful open-air promenades, flowing springs, and waterfront charm. Not to mention, there are new parking garages, making it easier for guests to access the complex. Expect a ton of shops to open next month. The Town Center section of Disney Springs will open May 15, with the majority of shops in that area expected to be open by July 1.

This June at the Magic Kingdom, Cinderella Castle will be the backdrop to a new stage show called "Mickey's Royal Friendship Faire," and in August, a Latina princess makes her debut. Guests will be able to meet Princess Elena from the series "Elena of Avalor" which premiers on the Disney Channel this summer.

At Epcot, the world's favorite forgetful fish Dory has joined Crush at the Turtle Talk attraction, and in June, the Norway pavilion will be the permanent home to Anna and Elsa from "Frozen." That includes the new boat adventure as well, Frozen Ever After -- a journey by water, inspired by the story and settings from the world's number one animated film. It replaces the old Maelstrom ride. Also, Soarin' is getting a new film -- one that takes you around the world!

Over at Disney's Hollywood Studios, look for a new Star Wars fireworks show in June, and at Animal Kingdom, the park will stay open after dark with new nighttime show. "Jungle Book: Alive With Music" show, the Tree of Life Awakens, and Kilimanjaro Safaris After Dark all debut on Memorial Day weekend. There's also a new restaurant, named Tiffins, set to open at the park.

There's truly something for everyone, coming this summer at Walt Disney World.
