'Blade Runner' Pistorius set to be released after serving 10 months in prison

SOUTH AFRICA (FOX NEWS) - Oscar Pistorius is scheduled to be released from prison on Friday after serving 10 months of a five-year sentence for the fatal shooting of his girlfriend Reeva Steekamp, the USA Today reports.

The former paralympic runner was convicted of killing Steenkamp on Valentine's Day in 2013. Pistorius claimed he mistook his girlfriend for an intruder in his bathroom and was found guilty of culpable homicide.

He is expected to serve the rest of his sentence at his uncle's home outside Pretoria and will be required to wear an electronic monitoring device.
