Body of missing woman from Maine found in Pasco Co.

NEW PORT RICHEY (FOX 13) - Decomposing remains found Thursday evening have been identified as a missing woman from Maine, Judith Therianos.

The Pasco County Sheriff's Office said her cause and date of death was not known, but her body was taken to the medical examiner for autopsy.

Theorianos, 52, had not been seen since March 11.

Thursday night, Pasco County deputies went to a wooded area near 6633 U.S. Highway 19 after someone reported a decomposed body. They found a white female's body.

Friends of a woman visiting the Bay Area said they're worried for her safety after she disappeared March 14. Now, the Pasco County Sheriff's Office has joined the search.

Deputies said Judith Therianos and a friend came on February 15, to the Bay Area from Maine, to visit friends.

During her trip, friends told investigators, she was taken to visit people she knew in Tampa, and then moved on to visit others in New Port Richey.

Then, deputies said, she seemed to disappear.

Detectives said Therianos liked to go to bars and often talked with men she did not know personally. Before her disappearance, detectives believe she met a male named Charlie at a bar in New Port Richey.

Charlie was described as a white male, about 70-years-old. He was said to be 5'10" tall with long white hair and a beard.

Therianos was seen with the man on March 11 in a newer model, white GMC Terrain.
