Gov. Deal discusses state's bid for Amazon's next headquarters

Georgia Governor Nathan Deal discussed the state's bid for Amazon's next headquarters at an event Wednesday morning.

Metro Atlanta is among the contenders for the company's second headquarters, which could bring 50,000 new jobs to the state.

Governor Deal doesn't expect Amazon to name finalists for several more months, but when that happens, if metro Atlanta is in the top three, he will call a special session. That will allow lawmakers to pass more incentives for the company to set up shop here.

Deal talked about his Amazon plans Wednesday morning at the "Eggs and Issues" breakfast, which is an event hosted each year by the Georgia Chamber of Commerce.
