'It's Not Worth It': Young woman left blind from texting and driving speaks out

A young woman is speaking out after a devastating texting-and-driving accident changed her life forever.

As a teenager, 20-year-old Liz Marks from Maryland said she "ignored those warnings about texting while driving, because everyone else was doing it."

"If I didn't have my cell phone, I felt lonely," she said.

That all changed one day in April 2012, when Marks looked down to read a text message while she was at the wheel.

The horrific accident left her blind in one eye, and impaired her sense of smell and hearing.
