Police: 10-year-old girls fought off naked man who broke into their home

CLOVIS, Calif. (FOX 10) -- Police in a central Californian city said two young girls managed to fight off a naked man who broke into their home.

Clovis Police officials said officers were called out to the home at around 12:31 a.m. on May 12. The suspect, identified as 26-year-old Timothy Jay Picard of Fresno, forced open a window at the home and entered a room where the two 10-year-olds were sleeping. The two woke up to Picard touching them inappropriately, and they eventually fought him off. Picard fled through the window, and the two children then alerted adults in the home, who called 911.

Picard, police said, has multiple prior arrests, including for stalking and burglary. He was arrested on Wednesday, and faces charges of lewd and lascivious acts with minors under 14, burglary, and probation violation.

Clovis is located immediately to the northeast of Fresno.
