THORNTON, Colo. - A Colorado woman accused of leaving her two-year-old son in a parked car overnight in subzero temperatures admitted that she had been drinking, according to police.
The Thornton Police Department says that 26-year-old Nicole Alexandria Carmon allegedly abandoned the boy Friday night, and they found him about 15 hours later in a snow-covered vehicle after temperatures had dropped to minus-8 degrees.
The police affidavit said that surveillance video showed Carmon outside a Conoco gas station Friday night, and she appeared to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol. She apparently was heard saying the word “Target” before walking away.
According to the affidavit, Carmon was seen visiting stores in the area, attempting find a vehicle with a child inside. She later told police she consumed six shots of vodka on Friday night, then walked to the gas station to get a ride home.
