Police: Homeless man arrested for living in manmade cave at Fairfax park

Police say a homeless man was arrested after he was found living in a manmade cave at a park in Fairfax.

Fairfax City Police have charged 25-year-old Yosue Joel Rios with destruction of property after a person reported seeing a covered tunnel had been dug at Van Dyck Park on Old Lee Highway Sunday afternoon.

Arriving officers found a pillow and numerous personal belongings in the cave. Police say Rios then arrived and told them he was residing in the cave.

Rios was also wanted for failure to appear on a traffic charge in Arlington County, according to police.

Rios was taken to the Adult Detention Center and has been ordered held without bond.
